Gathering in front of the United Nation’s Headquarters in Geneva in Protest to the Violation of Human Rights in Iran

 

The situation of human rights in Iran will be reviewed at the 7^th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United Nation Human Rights Council (UNHRC), between February 15-17, 2010.

 

Coinciding with the UPR session, “UPR-Geneva 2010”-- a network of local and international human rights organizations and activists -- will be holding a protest in front of the United Nations’ offices in Geneva in order to highlight the widespread and persistent violations of human rights in Iran.

 

To this end, a number of political and student organizations, in several North American cities, are also working to hold protest gatherings on Saturday, February 13.

 

Noting the escalation of state-sanctioned violence, and the threat of execution against civic activists, we invite all human rights defenders and victims of human rights abuse in Iran to attend these gatherings and to voice their demands.

 

Our demands of the United Nation Human Rights Council are as follows:

 

1. To condemn state-sponsored violence, torture, rape, execution and other forms of human rights violations in Iran
2. To demand the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners
3. To call for freedom of association and expression
4. To dispatch a group of delegates to inspect the condition of prisons and prisoners in Iran
5. To initiate an investigation to identify those responsible for massive human-rights abuses; and to bring them before the International Criminal Court by a referral of the UN Security Council
6. To re-establish a special body for monitoring the human rights situation in Iran

تجمع در مقابل دفتر سازمان ملل متحد در ژنو
در اعتراض به نقض حقوق بشر در ايران

 

 در هفتمین اجلاس بررسی ادواری جهانی شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد، در روزهای 15 تا ۱۷ فوریه 2010 در مقر سازمان ملل متحد در ژنو، وضعیت حقوق بشر ایران مورد بررسی قرار خواهد گرفت .

در اعتراض به روند گسترده، مستمر و برنامه ريزی شده نقض حقوق بشر در ايران و به مناسبت  نشست شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد، نهادهای حقوق بشر داخلی و خارجی و ديگر تلاشگران حقوق بشر ، تجمعی اعتراضی در تاريخ  15 تا ۱۷ فوریه 2010 در مقابل مقر سازمان ملل در ژنو بر گزار می کنند. در همین راستا، انجمن های دانشجویی و سیاسی بسیاری از شهرهای آمریکای شمالی نیز در تلاش برای برگزاری تجمعات اعتراضی در روز شنبه 13 فوریه 2010 هستند. با توجه به شدت یافتن خشونت های دولتی و تهدید روزافزون فعالین اجتماعی به اعدام،  از تمامی مدافعين حقوق بشر و قربانيان نقض حقوق بشر در ايران دعوت بعمل می آوريم، از خواستهای اين تجمعات حمايت و در آنها شرکت نمايند. درخواستهای ما ازشورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد به شرح زیر است: 1.      محکومیت خشونت دولتی، شکنجه،  تجاوز، اعدام و دیگر موارد نقض حقوق بشر در ایران 2.      آزادی بی قید و شرط کلیه ی زندانیان سیاسی 3. آزادی بیان، تجمعات و رسانه ها 4.      اعزام هیئتی برای بررسی وضعیت زندان ها و زندانیان ایران5.  شناسایی و مجازات تمامی عاملین و آمرین   جنايت عليه بشريت و مسببين نقض حقوق بشر در ایران

6.      برقراری نظارت مجدد و ويژه بر وضعيت حقوق بشر در ايران
